E F Peart and a Case of Slander in Thornley |
This fascinating newspaper item appeared in February 1937, not long before the local elections in which Hubert Tunney lost his positions on the Easington Rural District Council and Thornley Parish Council and failed in his bid to defeat the official Labour candidate for a seat on Durham County Council.
